Giant Fuzzy Love Hat
I just loved making my new
Giant Fuzzy Love Hat!
Giant Fuzzy Love Hat!
Whew what a journey, I have learned a ton!
My "Happy Place" sitting next to the river knitting |
This hat was inspired by 3 things;
- My deep love for my Giant Angoras
- My passion to learn new things, such as stranded knitting
- My desperate need to use some of my overabundance of yarn stash
Using my Homespun Yarn; Fawn color is 100% Giant Angora Boucle Green is Giant Angora Blend 3 ply |
My Fuzzy Love hat went through several versions, as I struggled not only with the designing, but the reality of knitting stranded color work. I persevered, and I have learned a great deal!
My final version of "Fuzzy Love" Bingo! |
The more I learn,
the more I realize how much I don't know.
With the help of several very talented knitting friends, by test knitting and sampling my Euphoria yarn, I have a great pattern to share. I can now wear my Giant Fuzzy Love Hat with Pride, and you can too!
In knitting my Giant Fuzzy Love Hats, in a few I used my Euphoria Angora yarn in both colors, and some I used Euphoria plus a second wool yarn. I selected the second color from my stash of wonderful assorted yarns, utilizing complementary yarns in weight and color. I love my Euphoria yarn, although it is extremely warm and not much elasticity. I found when combining the pattern with a springy wool yarn as the second color, this created a great balance.
One of my early versions, not quite loving the lettering style yet. |
My first was wayyyy tooooo talllll. My Fuzzy Love was wacky, but I still like it. I am having way too much fun. See the crazy yellow and green hat! Well in reality it looks green, looks blue on my computer screen... I'll have to work on my picture taking skills.
Here is a picture of my test knitter's first try at my version 1. Again, way too tall. But look at the fun we are having!
To those brave knitters out there, give the pattern a whirl.
When finished, you too can wear your
Giant Fuzzy Love Hat with pride!
For all your future knitting and crafting projects,
may you have fun and joy in your heart
with every step or stitch on the way.
